His philanthropic pursuits led to the creation of the Maestro Cares Foundation, which improves the quality of life of orphaned and disadvantaged children in Latin America and the United States.

CMN is passionate about fostering an environment that gives back. With this in mind, CMN President and CEO, Henry Cárdenas, co-founded Maestro Cares Foundation in 2012 with help from music icon Marc Anthony. The vision was to bring needed aid to orphaned and disadvantaged children across Latin America and the United States. Through the unwavering generosity of its partners, donors, and employees, Maestro Cares Foundation is on its way to creating a legacy in Latin America through the construction of schools, orphanages, and community centers that provide a safe and nurturing place for children to live and grow into self-sufficient individuals. The foundation completed its first major project in early 2014: a full-service orphanage in La Romana, Dominican Republic. Since then, Maestro Cares Foundation has opened five additional homes in Barranquilla, Colombia; Toluca and Guadalajara, Mexico; Ponce, Puerto Rico and La Paz, Bolivia. Together, these homes cater to hundreds at-risk children, providing a place to call home where they are loved and cared for, and receive direct access to educational and recreational facilities that have rekindled the hopes and dreams of the children and the community. To date the foundation has completed construction on 10 projects in 9 different countries, and 6 additional projects underway in El Salvador, Guatemala, USA, Chile and two new ones in Colombia. Capitalizing on the ever-growing popularity of the sport of soccer in the United States, CMN Sports was able to secure U.S. rights of the Argentinean National Team and has produced some of the biggest matches in US territory including the first ever “Clásico de las Americas” between Argentina and Brazil.

The CMN Sports Division has successfully produced over 150 soccer matches at the club and National Team level including Copa Sears Pre-Libertadores, Copa Reebok, and Super Copa Tecate, bringing together teams from Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, El Salvador, Brazil, Ecuador, and the United States.
