Christian Jesús González Nodal, known as Christian Nodal, is a Mexican singer, songwriter, and musician born in 1999 in Caborca, Sonora. He’s recognized for creating and popularizing the “mariacheño” style—a fusion of mariachi and norteño music. At 17, he signed with Universal Music Latin and released his debut album Me Dejé Llevar (2017), which earned critical and commercial success with hits like “Adiós Amor” and “Te Fallé.” His second album Ahora and singles like “No Te Contaron Mal” continued his rise.

In 2021, his track “Botella Tras Botella” with Gera MX became the first regional Mexican song to enter the Billboard Hot 100. Now signed with Sony Music México, Nodal has released two successful EPs, Forajido and Forajido 2, further solidifying his place in Latin music. He has won multiple awards, including three Latin Grammys and several Billboard Latin Music Awards.

El Amigo 2025

“El Amigo” is a song that blends heartbreak with betrayal—a common theme in regional Mexican music—but with Christian Nodal’s personal touch: powerful vocals, the signature mariacheño style, and emotionally resonant, straightforward lyrics.
